Goleta Councilmember Ed Easton, who had spent the weekend in the hospital because of a minor heart irregularity, was released Monday and expects to be at the council’s meeting later today.

Easton collapsed at a Get Oil Out (GOO) event Friday. In a statement from the city yesterday, he said he was very lucky to get the “early warning” for what could have been a dangerous condition, but can be easily treated with medication. Said Mayor Roger Aceves, “I have seen dramatic improvement due to the excellent health care Ed has received from Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. I look forward to his return to City Council duties.”
