Loop de Coop Tours Eastside Hen Houses, Raises Money for Roosevelt Elementary
Real estate, even with the tanking market, is still dear in Santa Barbara. Just ask at “Cluck’s Tavern,” “Fat Chick Folly,” “Poultry Pantheon,” “Amelia’s Aerie,” “Chicken Compost Palace,” “Los Colibros,” or “The Hummingbirds.” But before you ask, you have to learn Gallus domesticus, as that’s what these chickens will speak. Or you could just go on Loop de Coop, a chicken coop tour of the above named sites and a silent auction that benefits Roosevelt Elementary (you will help support 5th-graders go to Astrocamp, for in space, no one can hear you cluck). The tour of these Eastside hen houses will happen on Sunday, March 22, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. More and more people have discovered the joys of raising chickens and having fresh eggs, and this day will make that delight absolutely clear.
