The City of Santa Barbara has issued two building permits for Tea Fire survivors hoping to rebuild, with another 18 poised to receive such permits imminently. Of the 230 structures consumed by November’s Tea Fire, 151 fall within the City of Santa Barbara’s jurisdiction. According to city planner Paul Casey, 136 demolition permits have been issued; of those, 86 owners have completed demolition. (/teafire319)

A 3/15 concert benefiting Tea Fire victims Lance and Carla Hoffman raised an estimated $15,000 at Earl Warren Showgrounds. The Hoffmans were not among the estimated 2,000 attendees, however, due to the schedule of their treatment regimen. The show featured Dishwalla and other bands. The Hoffmans, who sustained severe burns while fleeing the fire, must also avoid sun exposure for the next year. (/teafire320)
