Donations Sought for Ongoing Programs at UCSB MultiCultural Center; Make-a-Wish Foundation in Need of Santa Barbara-Area Wish Granters.
• For 20 years, UCSB’s MultiCultural Center (MCC) has been a support system for underrepresented students and a safe and inclusive space to give a voice to diversity and free expression. The organization is currently in need of donations large and small from the community in order to continue providing its commendable and necessary services. Call 893-5037 for more info.
• The Make-A-Wish Foundation of the tri-county area grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich their existence with hope, strength, and joy. There is a great need for volunteer Wish Granters in our county, particularly those with Spanish-speaking abilities. The final New Wish Granter training session for 2009 will take place Saturday, August 1, in Santa Barbara. For more information on applying to become a Wish Granter, call 676-9474.
