Man Accused of Trying to Lure Boy into Van

Reynaldo Victoriano Alonzo was arrested by Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s detectives after a suspect matching his description reportedly approached a 14-year-old and attempted to lure the boy into his van outside a grocery store on Edison Street in Santa Ynez on August 3.

Sheriff’s detectives discovered that a man of the suspect’s description had been seen at the Chumash Casino, and with the help of Casino investigators were able to identify Alonzo, age 41, who is a registered sex offender. The detectives then obtained search and arrest warrants before following Alonzo to Fresno where he was arrested on Tuesday, August 11.
