Los Padres National Forest officials today announced that road paving operations on the Santa Lucia Ranger District will temporarily close portions of Figueroa Mountain Road between November 3 and November 9.

On Wednesday, November 3, Figueroa Mountain Road (7N07) will be closed from 8:00 am to 11:00 am to allow crews to safely conduct paving operations. From Thursday, November 4, through Tuesday, November 9, travellers can expect up to a half-hour delay as portions of Figueroa Mountain Road are closed while crews complete the paving work.

“The crews have finished stabilizing the portions of the road that were impacted by erosion, and this now allows us to finish paving the rough patches to enhance vehicle traffic,” said Santa Lucia District Ranger Kathleen Phelps.

Forest visitors are encouraged to contact the Santa Lucia Ranger District at (805) 925-9538 for more detailed information about this area and for the latest conditions.
