Elia Gonzalez has joined the recently opened Twin Cups as a barista and she is certainly not an ordinary barista! While Elia is making custom coffees you may even hear the amazing singing voice that she acquired from being in the Choir at Santa Ynez Union High School.

Elia Gonzalez

Elia is currently finishing her general education at Santa Barbara City College and plans on getting her AA with a minor in dance. Elia plans to transfer to UCSB, majoring in Sports Medicine and auditioning for the UCSB dance team. Elia’s goal is to become a sports medicine trainer after graduation.

At Twin Cups Elia has taken up, pairing specialty coffee drinks with pastries from Debbie Delights and asks customers to vote on their favorite pairings. Elia was trained as a Barista at The Coffee Spot in Santa Ynez and has expanded those skills into making custom blended milk shakes with the live culture probiotic yogurt that Twin Cups also offers.

“The creativity just never seems to stop!” said Nathan Carey, owner of Twin Cups. Elia’s favorite drink at Twin Cups is the chai charger with vanilla yogurt and can she never resist her favorite frozen yogurt “blackberry mango tart.” “Not only is the yogurt 100% fat free but it actually tastes just like ice cream and you get to make whatever flavor you feel like!”

At Twin Cups Elia loves being able to work outside. “I love taking phone orders and seeing the face of a customer when they pull in and I hand them their order right through their car window before they even have time to pull out their wallet.”

Twin Cups is located at 5329 Calle Real in front of the red barn so come by and say hello to Elia and join in the fun of inventing a new combination and be dazzled by her skills in making you your specialty coffee drinks, shakes, or custom frozen yogurt.
