The Helpful Rain

From the Mesa Harmony Garden, we would like to offer our thanks for all of you who continue to support our cause: To help feed the hungry in Santa Barbara through development of a Food Forest and the distribution of the bounty.

Our prayers were certainly answered by this wonderful rain we are experiencing, and our recently planted trees seem to be doing well. I’m sure the ground will be much more manageable for the planting of another 35 trees due any day.

We will also, hopefully, be planting some ground cover crops ($$ donations appreciated).

I hope you all continue the painstaking task of voting daily for our project which is entered for a grant from the Rainbird Corporation. It seems several other projects have the backing of civic organizations and have large numbers of votes coming in every day. This means we will need to extend our efforts, and ask our friends and families to vote, through March of 2011. Please refer people to our web page, Mesa HarmonyGarden.org.

We will continue to work Saturday mornings, weather permitting, from 9 a.m. to noon or so!
