Area Groups Hold Book Drive; Volunteers Needed to Maintain Mission Rose Garden
• The AmeriCorps Reading Literacy Program of the S.B. County Education Office will host a book drive from 11 a.m.-4p.m. on Monday, January 17, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. New books can be dropped off at Borders in Goleta, Chaucer’s Bookstore in Santa Barbara, and The Book Store in Lompoc. Call 964-4710 for more info.
• The City of S.B. Parks and Recreation Department is joining forces with the Rose Society to request volunteers to help prune the A.C. Postel Memorial Rose Garden (adjacent to Old Mission Santa Barbara) on Saturday, January 15, beginning at 9 a.m. Call 564-5433 for more info.
