UCSB hosts the 8th Annual Arthur N. Rupe Great Debate this week. The event is a large-scale panel discussion during which public intellectuals Cary Nelson and Stanley Fish will talk about Academic Freedom in a Time of Crisis. Nelson is a professor of liberal arts at the University of Illinois, and Stanley Fish is a professor of humanities and law at Florida International University.
