Nuria Reed

SHE’S BACK: After graduating Cal Berkeley with an anthropology degree this spring, Nuria Reed moved back to her hometown of Santa Barbara and is interning for The Indy. She’s held a variety of odd jobs in the past — working on an organic farm in Ireland and posing as a nude model in town — but felt drawn to reporting because, as she put it, “All the people I feel most inspired and excited by happen to be journalists,” counting Amy Goodman and Naomi Klein among them. When she’s not writing here, Reed likes to grow and culture edibles and is thinking of starting a business that helps people culture sauerkraut, pickles, kombucha, etc., on their own.
