UCSB graduate, Joey Maida, founded the company in August of 2001 with the goal of providing customers with superior service at a reasonable price while contributing to local non-profit organizations. In 2004, University Movers became accredited through the Better Business Bureau, which helped the company gain respect and form a trustworthy relationship with potential customers.

Over the last ten years the moving industry has welcomed many technological advancements and University Movers has been leading the way. Last year, they were able to lower costs and automate much of their systems with the help of the Apple ipad, while still maintaining a personal relationship with their customers. The use of new technology has made moving more environmentally friendly and efficient.

Along with providing great customer service, University Movers participates in helping local non-profit organizations such as the Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation, which provides financial assistance to low income families and Santa Barbara Rape Crisis Center, which is dedicated to helping victims of sexual assault.

University Movers’ team of professionals continues to evolve with the moving industry and the needs of the local community. Ten more years!
