SBBG’s Fall Flora Sale
More Than 5,000 Plants, Over 400 Species
It’s difficult to believe autumn is just around the corner when the temperature outside is still hot as heck, but it’s true, nonetheless. Anticipating the cooler months to come, Santa Barbara Botanic Garden (1212 Mission Canyon Rd.) is having its annual monthlong sale of flora for fall planting. A highlight of the sale will be the rare woolly blue curls (Trichostema lanatum), a fragrant, blue-flowering evergreen shrub typically found in the Santa Ynez Mountains. The number of woolly blue curls is limited, but fear not: There are heaps more flora to choose from — more than 5,000 plants and over 400 varieties will be available for purchase. The sale runs Saturday, September 29-Wednesday, October 31. For more information, call (805) 682-4726 or visit sbbg.org.
