Harbor’s Public Boat Ramp Under Massive Repair
The harbor’s public boat ramp is undergoing major and long-needed repairs that are scheduled to be completed by the end of June. Though its eastern third was redone in 2012 — at a cost of $450,000, paid with a Department of Boating and Waterways grant — the ramp’s westernmost section had become so worn and dilapidated in recent years that it became unusable, and the center lane was forced to accommodate all launches — around 13,000 annually. This round of repairs will cost $350,000 and will also be paid for by the state.
