Sheriff’s detectives are on the hunt for an unidentified suspect who robbed a Goleta pharmacy at gunpoint Tuesday and made off with prescription medication.

The man — described as a Hispanic male in his early twenties, approximately 5’11” tall and 170 pounds — walked up to the pharmacy consultation window, handed staff a note demanding a list of medications, and showed off a handgun in his waistband. An employee handed over the pills, and the suspect left the location — the Walgreens located in the 5900 block of Calle Real — on foot at around 1 p.m.

Sheriff’s deputies along with a county air support helicopter responded to the scene, but were unable to locate the suspect. At the time, he was wearing a black baseball cap, aviator sunglass, a green plaid shirt, khaki pants, and a dark jacket.

Anyone with information on the robbery or the suspect is asked the call the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Bureau 681-4150 or anonymously at 681-4171.
