Traffic Safety and Awareness Memorial Walk

District Attorney Joyce E. Dudley announced today that the 2013 Traffic Safety and Awareness Memorial Walk will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2013 from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM at Preisker Park in Santa Maria.

The Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office and the Santa Maria Police Department invite you to attend the 2013 Traffic Safety and Awareness Memorial Walk on Sunday, September 8, 2013. Please join us for a one mile walk to honor and remember victims of traffic casualties, while also raising awareness of the risks of dangerous driving.

Both humans and animals have fallen victim to dangerous drivers. Therefore, owners of licensed, leashed, and safe dogs are encouraged to bring their canine companions. A free t-shirt will be given away to the first 150 participants. There will be live music performed by Caló, as well as various food vendors offering food for sale.

Time: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM

1st Walk – 11:00 AM. Check-in starts at 10:30 AM

2nd Walk – 12:00 PM. Check-in starts at 11:30 PM

3rd Walk – 1:00 PM. Check-in starts at 12:30 PM

Location: Preisker Park, 331 Hidden Pines Way, Santa Maria, CA

Cost: Adults: $20

Adults with a dog: $15

Children 7 and above: $10

Children under 7: Free

Proceeds from the event will be donated to the families of traffic casualty victims.
