Global Challenge Cyclists ride to benefit United Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Barbara County
On Sunday, Sept. 29 cyclists riding from Tijuana, Mexico crossed the finish line in Goleta for a charity event to benefit the United Boys and Girls Clubs of Santa Barbara County. The 2013 bicycle ride fundraiser helped various charities around the world, including the United Boys and Girls Clubs of Santa Barbara County and the Boys and Girls Club of Moorpark. The cyclists were greeted by kids from the United Boys and Girls Clubs and other supporters.
“The reason we chose the United Boys and Girls Clubs of Santa Barbara County is that we were looking for organizations within our community that best represent the ideals of our employees,” said Jennifer Jones, Human Resources Business Partner at BEI Sensors in Goleta. “The United Boys and Girls Clubs provide invaluable programs for children of our employees that are family-friendly and active, allowing our employees to come to work knowing their kids are safe and having fun – which gives them peace of mind.”
“We are thrilled to be a beneficiary of this year’s bike challenge,” said Gina Carbajal, Executive Director of United Boys and Girls Clubs of Santa Barbara County. “The kids are inspired by the riders, and feel encouraged to participate in their own sporting events.”
