Girls Inc. of Greater Santa Barbara announced today that they will host an e-waste collection event to raise funds for the organization. The event will be held on Saturday, October 19th, from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., at 531 E. Ortega Street at the Santa Barbara Center. Through E-Waste Fundraising (www.e-wastefundrsising.org), they will accept donations of computers, monitors, televisions, servers, laptops, cell phones, small appliances, electronics, radios, CDs/DVDs, VHS tapes, VCRs, and DVD players for environmentally safe recycling. Donations are also accepted in advance of the event.
Girls Inc. will receive 60% of the revenue collected for all qualified e-waste. The materials will be collected by a qualified, licensed collector, and be properly processed here in the U.S. according to California state guidelines. Inquiries to Shane Meserve at (805) 963-4017 x4.
