Santa Barbara’s Braille Institute held a grand opening 10/24 for two new centers, both of which will be at the organization’s property on De la Vina Street. One of the additions, called the Low Vision Wellness Center, allows clients to meet with staff members one-on-one to gain mobility skills and tips for getting around their homes and public places. The second center, called Connection Pointe, teaches those who are visually impaired how to use iPads and closed-circuit TVs and take advantage of features like Braille displays, bigger fonts, and audio books.
