The Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians Foundation raised $105,000 during its ninth annual charity golf tournament that will be evenly distributed among three organizations: Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Santa Barbara County, Dream Foundation, and Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation. “To paint a picture of what the golf tournament’s funding will do for us,” said CASA Executive Director Kim Colby Davis, “$35,000 is enough to cover volunteer training for an entire year. … That is more than enough to wipe out our current waiting list.” Since 2004, the golf tournament has raised more than $850,000 for area charities and nonprofits. Last year, $100,000 went to the Westside Boys & Girls Club of Santa Barbara.
