Government Surveillance, Secrecy and the Retaliation Against Whistleblowers: Civil Liberties in the National Security State
Susan Herman, President of the National ACLU, will present a talk on the implications of government surveillance programs on civil liberties. She has written several books on the subject including Terrorism, Government, and Law: National Authority and Local Autonomy in the War on Terror and The Right To A Speedy And Public Trial. Her most recent release is entitled Taking Liberties: the War on Terror and the Erosion of American Democracy.
