UCSB Collaborates with Goleta Water District

UC Santa Barbara and Goleta Water District are working together to inform the community on both local and state water issues. Their lecture series titled “Water (we going to do)?” educates on what affects the supply and delivery of water, how water infrastructure in California works, and what individuals can do to limit the shortages the community so often faces in Santa Barbara County. UCSB hosted the first lecture this past Tuesday, and the next event is set for the final week of June. One of the organizers, Matthew O’Carroll, said that the first event had a great turnout of both UCSB students and community members who traveled from as far as Ojai to attend. O’Carroll is looking forward to the second lecture, which will be held in Goleta, “as water conservation and efficiency efforts are of the utmost importance as we move into the summer.” The series is free and open to the public, for more information please contact Matthew O’Carroll at matthew.ocarroll@pf.ucsb.edu.
