Farm-to-Bar: The Bright Side

A few weeks ago, I was fortunate enough to be in Ocean Beach near San Diego when a hurricane was doing its thing in the Pacific.

Bummer, you say? Far from it, with 72 degree water, six- to 20-foot waves, and not one bad vibe in or out of the water.

It was so nice, in fact, it inspired this drink, which I call “The Bright Side.” It’s a fun and refreshing twist on the classic hurricane cocktail.

Sip this bad boy and remember, hurricanes are like the forest fires of the sea, here to maintain the balance of nature. Cheers!

1 oz. light rum

1 oz. dark rum

1/2 a bottle of Goodland Organic’s fresh passion fruit

1 muddled strawberry

1/2 oz. lime juice

1/2 oz. Liquor 43

Garnish with thyme
