The legislation that could allow a community services district to be established in Isla Vista took another step forward last week. Introduced by Assemblymember Das Williams, AB 3 passed off the Assembly floor on a party-line vote, 51 to 26. From there, the bill heads to a Senate policy committee, which it must pass out of by July 17. Meanwhile, a group of college students and I.V. residents continue to meet weekly to discuss details of the bill.
