Recently, California was plagued by several devastating fires, especially in the north.

U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) acting director Tom Homan confirmed on Thursday the arrest of a man suspected of setting one fire in Sonoma County, Wine Country. The man was an illegal alien from Mexico, who has twice been returned to his home country. Furthermore, ICE has issued detainer requests for him five times in the past year. All of these arrests were made in Sonoma Country on various felony and misdemeanor charges.

Sonoma County is a sanctuary jurisdiction and doesn’t cooperate with federal immigration officials, including ICE detainers. Homan revealed ICE was never notified when Gonzalez was released.
