The latest twist in a long-running dispute over the development of Naples came last Thursday when the Environmental Defense Center (EDC), Naples Coalition, and Surfrider Foundation filed an appeal in state court that challenges a July 2012 Santa Barbara Superior Court decision upholding the county’s approval of a 71-mansion subdivision. The group’s original lawsuit alleged that when county supervisors approved the project and its accompanying environmental report, they violated a host of state and local laws.
