Santa Barbara police are still investigating how an officer accidentally discharged his rifle while responding to a gang fight on East Victoria Street two weeks ago. While skimpy with details, police brass stated that no one was shot or hurt when an officer accidentally fired a round of ammunition from his rifle, nor was the officer aiming at anyone when the shot was fired. The incident occurred on the 200 block of East Victoria late on 7/23.
