Burning Trash Scorches Goleta’s Holiday Inn

Cause of Fire Still Under Investigation

The contents of a dumpster in the parking lot of the Goleta Holiday Inn at 5650 Calle Real in Goleta caught on fire Monday. Six engine companies and one truck company responded to the fire at 9:19 a.m., but only one was needed to put out the fire in the 40 foot roll-off type dumpster filled with construction lumber waste. Damage to the hotel was limited, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
