Gustafson Dance Camp

SBMA ArtVenture Camps

ArtVenture Camps are unique week-long art experiences for kids ages 6-12. Campers learn a variety of art techniques, cultural history, and creative problem-solving in an inspiring atmosphere. Each week offers campers new and exciting opportunities to express themselves through drawing, painting, collage, sculpting, fiber arts, print-making, mixed media, and more. Each camp includes a visit to the S.B. Museum of Art to learn about and be inspired by original works of art. Our exceptional team of experienced art teachers includes professional painters, illustrators, art historians, graphic designers, ceramicists, and educators. The student-teacher ratio is 8:1. The Traveling Artist-Sketch, Draw, and Paint: Around the world in five days. Travel through time and place at the museum and capture your adventures with drawings in your sketchbook. Art Revolution! Express Yourself: Welcome the visionary artists of tomorrow! This camp builds and develops the skills to express yourself in the universal language of art. Storytelling in Video and Film

Learn to write, shoot, and edit video and film using Sony VX-2100 cameras and Final Cut Pro HD. Students will storyboard, shoot, edit, and create a five-minute short DVD.

Learn basic throwing techniques in this fun and rewarding class. Hand-built projects and under-glaze painting techniques are included. Both functional and sculptural work are covered.

Young Singers Club Performing Arts Camps

Youth Acting Camps

Does your child express an interest in performing? Class size of 10 or fewer participants provides personalized attention. Instructor Brendan Fleming has been acting for 25 years, performing in theater, film, and television. Tuesdays. Carrillo Recreation Center, 100 E. Carrillo St.

Beginning Acting: Students learn vocal range, proper breathing technique, and how to use voice as an instrument. Movement classes include characterization, neutrality, action, and using the body as instrument. Stage direction, etiquette, and professionalism are taught. Students role-play, improvise, and learn mime through theater games and activities. No memorization required.
