Downtown Sound’s Round One Winners

Online Polls Close, Eight Move On to Live Semi-Finals

The results are in for the first round of Downtown Sound, the annual Santa Barbara Independent- and New Noise Santa Barbara-sponsored battle of the bands. The following six bands will move on to the live semi-finals of our competition, slated to take place on Tuesday, October 11 at Velvet Jones (423 State St.) and Wednesday, October 12 at SOhO (1221 State St.).

These six, plus our two “editor’s picks” (included below) will be split up into two groups of four at random, and assigned to one of the two aforementioned showcase nights. All attendees at both shows will be given one ballot and asked to cast their vote for their favorite act. At the end of each night, the votes will be tallied and the top two winners will advance on to the finals, scheduled for Thursday, October 20 at SOhO.
