DURLS DOES FRANCE: What does our film fest’s head honcho do to relax when the screenings are done? This year, Roger Durling took off for France, where he awoke one morning at 5 a.m. to people shouting in the streets after Jean Dujardin and The Artist took home the Oscars. “It was surreal and joyous to be walking Parisian streets with people celebrating,” said Durling, who then visited the châteaus of fest supporters Moët & Chandon and Moët Hennessy, where he lunched with eighth-generation Hennessy descendant Maurice Hennessy in Cognac and stayed in his ancestral home, Château Bagnolet. “Of course,” said the Durls, “I took a copy of The Indy to catch up with the local news.”
