The United States is very close to reaching the 300 million
population mark, according to the U.S. Census
Bureau. That is up from 200 million in 1967. As of 11 a.m. on
Tuesday, October 10, the Bureau’s population clock estimated that
299,948,749 people were living in the U.S. With a net gain of one
additional person every 11 seconds, or about 7,345 additional
people daily, the U.S. should tip the 300 million mark next
Tuesday.

A man jumped to his death from the 101 overpass
at Gutierrez Street on Sunday morning. Police have identified the
man as a resident of San Bernardino County, but had not released
his name as of press time Tuesday, pending notification of next of
kin. The jumper’s motivation is unknown.
