Chatsworth-based Quake Shakes SB
No Damage Reported From 4.6-magnitude Rattler
The harmless fringe of an earthquake rattled the homes of sleeping Santa Barbara, Camarillo and Ventura residents around 1 a.m. this morning. The epicenter of the quake was recorded as having a 4.6 magnitude and it originated 4.7 miles beneath the surface, but caused no major damage. It hit a three miles northwest of Chatsworth, in the San Fernando Valley.
The last quake of record to be felt in the City of Santa Barbara occurred on June 28.
