Give a Little
• Whether you’re an avid boogie boarder or a fan of the occasional tanning session, head on up to Isla Vista to show a little love for your neighborhood beaches. The Surfrider Foundation will meet on Friday, August 24, for a beach cleanup. Volunteers will assemble at 10 a.m. between Del Playa Drive and Embarcadero Del Norte. Visit surfrider.org.
• Center of the Heart is looking for volunteers and contributions for its second annual Spa Day for Women in Shelters on Saturday, August 25. The center is requesting donations of clothing, gifts, or funding, as well as volunteers for event setup and cleanup. For more info, contact Melissa Ramsey at 964-4861.
• The Native Daughters of the Golden West will hold a fundraising event on Friday, August 24. For $20, guests can enjoy live music, dancing, wine, cheese, and one ticket for a grand prize drawing.
