Literature Symposium
With the start of school come a number of on-campus programs, screenings, lectures, and performances. Starting this Wednesday, avid and casual litterateurs alike are invited to take part in the weekly Literature Symposium at UCSB’s Old Little Theater in the College of Creative Studies. This week, famed poet Sandra Alcosser (A Fish to Feed All Hunger, Except by Nature) will open the season with a reading of her works. Alcosser has earned a number of national awards and was named Montana’s first Poet Laureate. The Literature Symposium takes place every Wednesday from 4-5 p.m. Below is a list of upcoming speakers. Oct. 17: Pete Hamill (Snow in August, Forever, A Drinking Life)

Oct. 31: Hugh Ranson (Spectrum; will read from his novel in progress)
