Salvation Army Breaks With United Way

Santa Barbara’s Salvation Army has severed its decade-long relationship with United Way, hoping to raise more money on its own. According to Salvation Army spokesperson Robert Steiner, United Way’s donations to the Salvation Army dropped from $52,000 a few years ago to $13,000 this year. The Salvation Army runs the Chapala Street shelter and other homeless services.
