Westmont College Receives Donated Books
Rare Tomes Among Those Now in Area Collection
Westmont College today announced that it now keeps in its library more than 250 books given to the college by the late Dr. Earl Rosenthal, a former professor of art history at the University of Chicago and a friend of Westmont art department chair Susan Savage. A statement from Westmont spokesperson Scott Craig noted that some of the items are valuable enough to be kept in Westmont’s rare books collection, while some duplicates have been shipped to UCLA and UCSB. Among the books is a complete set of the works of 19th-century author Anna Murphy Jameson on Christian art.
