County Registrar of Voters Joe Holland announced that the County Elections Offices will be open on Saturday, February 2, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., providing a last chance for voters who want to pick up a Vote by Mail ballot instead of going to their polling place on Tuesday, February 5. Under state law, according to public information officer William Boyer, mailed requests for Vote by Mail ballots cannot be processed within seven days of an election but voters can request them in person at their local elections offices. The ballots must be returned by 8 p.m. on February 5 to a polling place or one of the County Elections Offices, which are located at 130 E. Victoria Street in Santa Barbara; 401 E. Cypress Street, room 102, in Lompoc; and 511 E. Lakeside Parkway , Suite 1342, in Santa Maria.
