The Cynthia Ann Morrow Drop-In Center is hosting a Love/Learn Pancake Supper to benefit its homework assistance and recreation program for teenagers. For centuries, the English have eaten pancakes on “Shrove Tuesday,” or Mardi Gras, as a way to use up the eggs and dairy products they would fast from for Lent. Now you can enjoy a short stack, cakewalk, and the musical sounds of the Basin Street Buddies while helping out an invaluable program for our community’s youth. The Love/Learn Pancake Supper takes place Tuesday, February 12, from 5:30-7:30pm. Tickets range from $4-$9. Call 965-3579 for more information.
The Drop-In Center is open to junior high and high school students grades 7-12. The Center provides free tutoring, counseling, and recreation in English and Spanish, meeting academic and social needs for teenagers. Teens can stop by MondayThursday, from 2:30-5pm.
