SIMA Property Management evicted the Wine Cask on 2/17 after “several months” of unpaid rent on the Santa Barbara eatery’s 813 Anacapa Street location. L.A. restaurateur Bernard Rosensen bought the historic wine and restaurant business from Doug Margerum more than two years ago. Wine Cask’s demise, according to former employees, was due to poor management decisions, heightened competition, and the lousy economy. Margerum has expressed hope for a possible reopening.
