• Pacific Pride Foundation is seeking monetary donations to help fund its annual AIDS Walk, an event that helps support funding for HIV education, prevention, and more. Millions of dollars have been cut from the state’s Office of AIDS funding, prompting Pacific Pride to need support now more than ever. The walk takes place Saturday, October 3, at Leadbetter Beach. • Volunteers are needed for the 16th Annual Mental Health Arts Festival, an event aimed at increasing awareness of the artistic strengths of those afflicted with mental illness while shedding light on such individuals to help diminish the stigma attached to the label. Volunteers will be assisting with distributing flyers, helping set up, and supporting all those involved. The festival will be held on Saturday, October 10, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., in De La Guerra Plaza. The deadline for volunteers to register Friday, October 2. Call 884-8440 x100.

• For the past 15 years, Food From the Heart has been preparing and delivering meals to members of the community who are in crisis. Unfortunately, the charity has enough money for only two or three more weeks’ worth of food, and is seeking monetary donations so it can continue to provide services. Call 898-2391.
