Suspect Arrested for Goleta Stabbing
Detectives Still Searching for Two More Men
A man has been arrested in connection with the stabbing outside an Ellwood Beach Drive apartment last Tuesday, Santa Barbara Sheriff’s spokesperson Drew Sugars recently announced.
A 25-year-old man believed to have been involved in the fight walked to Goleta Valley Hospital with several knife wounds but gave authorities little information about what happened.
Detectives, said Sugars, took 28-year-old Rudy Myers into custody on Thursday, September 16, and booked him on a charge of felony assault with a deadly weapon.
Authorities, though, are still on the lookout for 30-year-old Michael Rivera and 25-year-old Phillip Childers who may be driving a 2006 Silver Toyota 4Runner with a Nevada license plate (816WMH).
[Editor’s Note: After eventually speaking with Childers and Rivera, detectives decided to not charge them with any crime related to this case.]
Detectives also want to speak with two female juveniles who were purportedly with the suspects when the stabbing happened.
If anyone has information related to the investigation they should contact Sheriff’s detectives at (805) 681-4150 or the Anonymous Tip Line at (805) 681-4171.
