CUP HALF FULL
New independent children’s bookstore the Curious Cup has opened up shop at 929 Linden Avenue in Carpinteria. The store will celebrate its grand opening on Saturday, February 5, from 1-5 p.m. with art by area students, face painting, and tarot card readings. Call 220-6608 for info.
WHAT’S OLD IS NEW AGAIN
It’s official: The old Carpinteria Plaza movie theater has reopened as a new venue and performance space. The Playhouse Theater is located at 4916 Carpinteria Avenue and will play host to S.B. band The Kicks this Saturday, February 5, at 8 p.m.
