Former Carp Commissioner Found Dead
Former Carpinteria Valley Water District commissioner Clay Brown was found dead at his residence on 2/23. The Sheriff’s Department is investigating the death as a possible suicide and has ruled out foul play. Brown was 50 years old and left behind two sons. He had mysteriously stepped down from the board a week earlier due to “personal reasons,” the Coastal View News reported. Brown, who studied German and Spanish at UCSB, ran a translation business and had formerly taught at San Marcos and Carpinteria high schools.
