Imagine Dragon

Continued Silence

Oh Vegas, a city of sleepless nights, seedy characters, and more over-the-top glitz than should ever exist in a four-mile stretch. Hailing from Sin City, Imagine Dragons put a unique twist on their hometown muse, penning big indie pop anthems that are equal parts tragedy stricken and life affirming. For their Continued Silence EP, the band joined forces with hip-hop producer Alex Da Kid to create a six-track sampler that explores the crisper, cleaner side of the rock ’n’ roll spectrum. Stylistically, Dragons bridge the gap between the harmony-driven and the more electronically reliant. Lead track “Radioactive” sounds a lot like Swedish production team Miike Snow, replete with bass-heavy industrial beats and a tricked-out and Auto-Tuned vocal track, while “On Top Of The World” calls to mind the jovial sing-along–ready efforts of radio faves like GROUPLOVE and Fun. Sure, Continued Silence may not be the most cohesive effort, but it’s prime party material, perfect for a summertime road trip, whether or not you’re bound for The Strip. Imagine Dragons play Velvet Jones (423 State St.) on Wednesday, May 9. Visit
