Injured Swimmer Rescued at Red Rock
Suffered Head Injury After Jumping into Shallow Water
The Santa Barbara County Fire Department on Memorial Day rescued a man from Red Rock Recreational Area after he jumped off a rock into a shallow swimming hole and hit his head.
Fire and medical personnel responded at about 12:45 p.m., lowering from a hovering helicopter to the site about 15 minutes from the Red Rock main parking lot.
The man was treated at the scene for moderate head and neck trauma and was transported by ambulance to Cottage Hospital for further treatment.
