A pessimistic realist

Says he’s not negative

For prematurely getting pissed

‘bout where the homeless live

Getting a free, returnable gift –

A cement ping pong table.

This free upgrade causes a rift?

“People abuse whenever they’re able.”

“Someone is bound to graffiti it up.”

“There’s enough bums hanging there now.”

“The new site of the Homeless Pong Cup.

They’ll sneak beer games in somehow.”

“Hey guys, I think I have got an idea.

How ‘bout we play some ping pong?

Best two of three decides like Gaea

If this proposed change is right or wrong?”

The pessimistic realist

Refuses the game of chance

And continues making his list

Of reasons, doubts, and shants.

He’ll huff and puff loud and strong

Until the fight is through.

And if the people ever do play ping pong,

He’ll probably be there booing you.
