I do not know who from the county told Nick Welsh that they are now looking at a one-seat stairlift for a museum behind the vet’s building to provide accessibility. But it will never work. Even if someone figures out a way to get people out of their wheelchairs and onto the thing, how are they going to transport the wheelchairs and scooters to the desired floors?

Before the County of Santa Barbara actually spends funding to build a dangerous non-ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant stair-lift, please let them know that it will leave any new building on that site unusable by people who use wheelchairs.

If you choose to look into accessibility options, the ADA now accepts miniature horses as service animals and they rightfully also need to be accommodated.

Thank you for keeping us enlightened and informed.
