And this year is as last year was.

Some travel far just to be

Annoyed with their own family.

Some enjoy the peace and quiet

And think your worry is a riot!

Some drink and eat and laugh with friends.

Some serve dreaming that gravy mends

The hearts of the starved and lonely

Who are thankful just to be

Alive to eat some turkey and pie

And relocate the thanks on which joy relies.
