The City of Santa Barbara pulled in $5.05 million in sales tax for the fiscal quarter that ended September 30, 2012, a 5.2 percent increase from the same period last year. Sales tax is the second largest General Fund revenue source and “continues to show recovery from growth lost during the recession,” according to a city press release. The sales tax budget for fiscal year 2013, developed in March of last year, is $19,590,700.
